We all know that we can do our keyword research and see what people are looking for and what key phrases we should target and this is the closest thing to reading peoples minds that we have online today.

But what happens if you focus all your energy on just search engine optimization and tomorrow there is a major search engine update and your site disappears off the radar and your traffic drys up over night?

There have been case after case of businesses that have built up very successful businesses of search engine traffic and they relied on this so much that when there was an update their sites dropped like flies and so did the traffic. The best thing with forums is that you can build up relationships with other members which makes easier to make sales when you have a product or service offering.

Fill in your Bio on your profile page and make sound interesting because quite a few people will visit your profile to find out more about you, so make sure you fill this in and have a link back to your site for them to find out more.

Make sure you add value to people by answering questions, posting useful how to’s and doing that little bit extra to help out. You want to make sure you post on a regular basis to keep your profile up and have a signature link that is targeted and professional. Keep it clean you don’t want a massive multi colored sig file it just looks trashy.

Web 2.0 – Web 2.0 sites can be a good place to get traffic and sites like Squidoo, Hub Pages, WordPress.com, wikidot and many others can send you some very targeted traffic.

Like forums they usually have a community feel to them and you need to make sure you interact within the community to get the best benefit from it. You also want to build your own profile by posting good quality contnet that is useful for readers. This will also help your SEO as well as traffic if you put a link back to your website from your content.

Make sure you fill in your profile so that anyone interested can quickly see what you are about and where thay can get more information.

Remember to link back to your profile when commenting on other peoples content and leave useful comments not just “hey great post”, because other readers will just ignore it so you may as well have not wasted the time to do it in the first place.

Email Marketing - Having an email list can be one of the best assets that you have and is often an over looked traffic strategy. Once you have a list and have built up a good relationship with them you can then start driving that traffic to where you need it most.

Things to remember are always look to add value before you try and take (this goes across the board for all traffic) or sell to your list. Keep in regular contact with your list and provide real value to solidify the relationship.

Valuable thing to show them might include, free courses or information not readily available, interviews, free software or tools, good blog posts or updates in the industry.

How do you get your list to start with? This is where it can be a little catch 22 (If I don’t have traffic how can I build a list?).

As long as you have something of value to offer then you can build a list without having an established website or traffic sources. The method is you create something of high value and approach other people with lists in the same market.

Now you can either give this away to these lists or sell it for low price, set up an affiliate program where the joint venture partner (the person with the list) gets most or all of the commission, this way they will be more likely to mail for you.

Social Media - Ahh the buzz word of the decade. Social Media is becoming huge and is a massive force that can not be stopped because we are social creatures and need interaction to survive.

Obviously the big ones are Facebook and Twitter with a few other emerging as I write.

Lets focus on Facebook for a minute. The goal of Facebook is not to build a fan page and then post you crap on there and hope people buy, it is instead a place where we can interact with people and build a strong relationship and following and then after we have done the goal is to send them back to our website.

This is also a great opportunity to start to get to know other people in your industry that might be able to help you with your business. Obviously add value before asking for help.

Few important points:
As great as Facebook is you never want to build your business on there because if your account gets shut down for whatever reason or someone hacks your profile, Facebook shuts down or gets brought out then you will be left with not only no traffic but no business.

Same as all the others keep it consistent, make sure you post something of value every day to keep your profile up and building those relationships. The content you share doesn’t always have to be on topic, remember we are all human and like to have a laugh at a funny pic or video, so throw in a few of these as well.

Video Traffic -  YouTube is now the second biggest search engine after Google and if you are not utilising the traffic there then you are missing out, because there is a massive amount of traffic there and very little people really understand how the full potential of it.

Now yes we are back to another search engine and I realise the irony of it even thaough the post is about diversifying, but this is a very different search engine.

If you are an information marketer or affiliate for information products then YouTube can be very powerful in driving traffic to your site, because there are a lot of people looking for “how to” videos.

Few things to remember:
Your videos don’t have to be perfect just get something up there, because great content that no one ever sees is worthless.

Try adding some humour even if you are talking about a serious subject, this is what will get your video shared and liked bringing more people to the video and more traffic back to the site.

Always put a link back to your site in the description box. it might sound obvious but I consistently see videos with 5 million hits and no link back to anything. These people are missing a huge opportunity.

Name your video the keyword you want to rank for before uploading it to YouTube then make sure you use the keywords in the title (this is not only your title for the video, but also your title tag and your H1 tag which will help you rank in Google too) and description while keeping it sexy so that people actually click on your video.

Build backlinks to your video to help it rank in the search engines as well.

Use your keyword and related keywords in the tags of your video, same as on your blog this will help the users and search engines to find and clearly see what your video is about. You can find YouTube keywords at https://ads.youtube.com/keyword_tool and also use the Google keyword tool.

While all of these are important and you do have to diversify for the security of your business, just focus on implementing one of these at a time and then once you have it sorted start another one. Don’t get overwhelmed by trying to all of them at once because nothing will get done.

Today I’m going to review a great little tool that will help you compile a huge list of keywords that most other tools wont give you.

A keyword tool that is so simple to use a one armed monkey could use it to generate a truckload of keywords in your market with literally a click of a button.

The concept is similar to the old Keyword Snatcher by John Ledger (that is No longer available) in that is scrapes the search suggestions from search engines and then takes then drops them in a database.

Then takes the keywords in the database and scrapes all the keyword suggestions for those and puts them in the database and keeps repeating this until it cant find any more.

Apparently up to 80% of all search quiries haven’t been typed in before and so the good old Google Keyword tool wont show you around 80% (My guess is more than that) of keyword that people are actually looking for.

How It Works
All you do is open up the software (obviously, I don’t know why people write that) then tick the places that you would like to scrape and hit “Go!”. It will go off and start quiring all the search engines and compiling the list of keywords for you.

When it’s finished you simply hit the “select all keywords” button and then copy them to your clipboard or a CSV file for sorting or use in another tool like Market Samurai.

You might be asking “why not just use Market Samurai?”. Market Samurai pulls it’s data from different sources and by using flash keyword miner in conjusntion with Market Samurai, you will end up with a much bigger and better keyword list than your competion.

Downsides of Flash Keyword Miner

Because it pulls data from mor places the keyword tool is a bit slower than the Keyword Snatcher but in saying that it brings back a hell of a lot more keywords than Keyword Snatcher.

Hendra likes to keep the cost down and just stick to tools that actually work instead of wasting time making something that looks pretty but does bugger all. So if you are one of those people that has to have good looking tools then you are going to find this a little plain, because there are no flashy graphics or cutesy styling on the product.

Upsides of Flash Keyword Miner

You dont need to be a rocket scientist to be able to use it. All you do is tick a box for each search engine you would like to scrape from and then enter your keyword and hit “go” and the tools does the rest.

You can put one keyword in and leave it run while you do other things and it will keep searching and adding keywords to the list.

While Keyword Snatcher only used to scrape:

• Bing
• Yahoo
• Ask
• Amazon

Flash Keyword Miner gets its data from:

• Google
• Bing
• Yahoo
• Ask

• Google Product

So you end up with more keywords than you would if you had Keyword Snatcher without having to any more work.

Final Thoughts
For the tiny price of $37 you would be silly not to grab this if you are doing SEO even part time, because the keywords that it comes back with 99% of your competition are not going to have and it makes increasing traffic so much easier when there is no competition.

We all know that getting your backlinks can be a pain in the butt some times and today I am going to show you a great tool that we use to get our backlinks indexed – Nuclear Link Indexer.

In this Nuclear Link Indexer review I am going to try and be as transparent as possible and give you an unbiased overview of the tool.

How Nuclear Link Indexer Works

In this part of a review I would normally tell you all the nitty gritty of how the thing works and what it actually does, however with this tool I cant really do that because the owner Kok Choon is very tight lipped when it comes to exactly how Nuclear Link Indexer works.

My guess is some sort of mass pinging set up that continually pings from a heap of different IP address, but like I say it is a guess.

How To Use It
The indexing tool is very simple to use all you need to have is a text file with all of the URL’s in it that you want to get indexed.

When you have all your links you can either upload straight to the indexing tool part of the program and let it start it’s work or for a bit extra money you can upload it to the index checking part first.

This section is very cheap and was created because the main indexing tool section costs per link and if you are putting in a few thousand links a month then it could end up costing you quite a bit get links indexed that may already be.

The index check part is far cheaper as I mentioned and you can check that part out. If you go this route then you simply upload it in this section first and it will go and check to see which pages are indexed and which aren’t, taking just a few minutes depending how big your file size is.

We have checked how many of our links are indexed before putting them in this part of the tool and found that just by using this it starts indexing our links.

It will then separate them into 2 lots. The lot that is indexed will appear in a button you can click and it will pass the URL’s over the indexing part of Nuclear Link Indexer where it automatically starts doing it’s job.

Once you are logged in it really is a 3 click process to upload you URL’s, check how many are indexed and then pass them to the indexing tool section.

What Is The Success Rate For Indexing

Kok gives a guarantee that you will see at least a 50% indexing rate or your money back (this doesn’t include forum profile links, because they don’t add any value to the web anyway) and we have seen success around this, but it does about a month for most rewritten content.

If you are using 100% hand written unique content then you will see a much higher rate of indexing.

Nuclear Link Indexer Packages

The are a number of packages starting from as low as 1,000 links per month at $10 to the big mamma 100,000 links per month at $787.

When you break it down if you get 50% index rate on links that were probably not going to get indexed anyway and you invest in the baby package for $10. You would effectively be getting 500 links indexed at 2 cents each. Now I don’t know of any way to get more backlinks that are actually indexed for 2 cents each, so this is by far one of the cheapest options out there.

Conclusion

While this isn’t a super fast 100% indexing machine its is very easy to use and literally takes 5 minutes to upload all your links and then it goes off and does it’s thing. A real set and forget option to getting your links indexed.

Lets start of with a brief over view of how the plugin helps you with SEO and what it does, so that you know where I am coming from in the rest of this review.

This WordPress plugin helps with your on page SEO properties and gives you a guide as to the elements that need to be adjusted on your page or post for maximum effect in the search engines.

Once you have installed the plugin and activated it you will see a feild for SEO Pressor. Once you have written your post or page, you just put the keyword that you want to rank the page for in here and then hit publish.

The plugin will then score your page/post on the following on page aspects that are important for SEO:
H1
H2
H3
Keyword Density
Internal link to another page
Do you have an image with the alt text
Do you have enough keywords to bold, italic and underline

The plugin will also bold, italic and underline your keyword for you automatically. Though this doesn’t make a huge difference to your SEO it may help give you that little edge.

You can then adjust your post/page and hit update again, each time you do this it will update your score as a percentage and show you what needs to be changed to get a better score. This takes the guess work out of writing new content and save you time in the proccess.

SEOPressor Review

Downsides Of SEOPressor:

The biggest downside of this plugin is that it tells you, you need a H1 tag (heading 1 in the wp page editor) when some times you actually already have one. You see it only looks at the content that is in the page and not the actual heading of the page.

Most WordPress themes these days have the post/page title as the H1 tag by default but the way SEO Pressor is set up it doesn’t check this and so in the case of some sites it is telling you to put in a H1 where you don’t need one.

This is important because for the best results you only want one H1 tag per page (H2-H6) you can have as many as you want, but only one H1) and if you put two it may harm your results.

Solution
It’s quite simple just go to any page on your site that you DO NOT have a H1 in the body and right click on the page >> click view page source >> Press Ctrl + F >> search for “H1″ you will then see if your theme automatically makes your heading a H1 tag. If after a <h1> you see your heading for that page, then you have one. If your search comes back with nothing then you don’t have one.

If it does have one then in you page editor, when SEOPressor tells you that you don’t have a H1 just ignore it and the percentage score it gives you.

If you didn’t find a H1 in the source code then you can follow what SEOPressor says and add one in to your page.

Other downsides
Two things that the plugin doesn’t check is the title tag and the URL to see if your keyword is on these as well. Both of these are important factors in your SEO so it would have been good to see these included in the plugin.

Upsides to SEOPressor:

The upsides to the plugin are that it saves you a bunch of time in checking the main things when publishing a new post or page and also servers as a good reminder in case you forget anything.

It is very easy to install, it’s just like most other standard plugins where you upload activate and go. There isn’t any other set up required.

It’s perfect if you are new to SEO or if you have outsources that are making posts for you, so they can easily check and make sure the content is correctly optimised. Even being fairly experienced in SEO I still use it because it saves me time and brain power thinking if I have included all the elements for good on page SEO.

I have been using the Backlink Energizer WordPress plugin for about 3 months now and so I thought I would make this short un-biased review and if you decide it’s for you I have a great Bonus for you at the end.

Lets start of with a brief over view of what the plugin does and how it works so you know where I am coming from in the rest of this review.

The WordPress plugin takes RSS feeds from other sources that you nominate and then pushes this content out to preset up blogs and web 2.0 sites like Blogger, WordPress, Xanga, Typepad, Posterous, Tumblr, Live Journal and Multiply.

In this content there are links automatically generated that point back at the pages your backlinks are on, helping to get these pages indexed in the search engines.

Why get your links indexed?

You can read the full story about backlinks indexing  and why it is so important on another post.

For now just think about it this way, If you have backlinks pointing at your site but the search engines don’t know that these links are there then they won’t count. So we need to make sure that we tell the search engines they are there and that they index them.

Some times even if search engines know that a page is there they wont index it, generally because it is low quality content like forum profiles that add no value to a searcher on the search engines.

Now I said Backlink Energizer builds links back to your links, this is helpful in getting your links indexed because have a link from one page to another is like a vote of confidence and if there are now links pointing back to a page that has your links on it, it is much more likely to get indexed and stay indexed.

So back to what exactly does it do?

Once you have the plugin set up on your site all you need to do is keep adding the URL’s of the pages that your links are placed on and the plugin will keep taking content from other sites and posting to your other blogs and web 2.0 sites.

Once the content is on these well trusted sites the search engines come by and crawl the sites finding the links back to the pages linking to you and hopefully indexing these pages in the process and powering up your site.

The other good thing about building links back to the pages that link to you is that will build up power and pass it on to your site.

Side note – everyone should be building links back to the pages pointing back to them as part of your link building strategy.

Backlink Energizer Review Results

The results will vary depending on what sort of pages you are putting in BLE to be indexed. If you are putting forum profile backlinks then don’t expect your indexing rate to be very high no matter what you do.

As mentioned these pages add no value to a user of a search engine so why would a search engine serve them up. You can generally expect to get about 30-50% indexed in my experience and honest opinion.

If you are trying to get a full page of content indexed then you rate of success is going to be a lot higher, more like 75% because it will be of more use to someone searching on a search engine.

75% might not sound like a lot but I can tell you that 75% is far better than what most people get that use UAW, AMA, SEOLV Etc. typically the indexing rate for these type of articles is about 30% straight off the bat.

Cons Of The Backlink Energizer Plugin:

Setting Up Accounts: You Need to have accounts set up on all the web 2.0 sites before you can get going. This can be time consuming, though I know that Steve now offers cluster packs where you can purchase pre made accounts and simply in put the logins into the plugin.

Takes Time: The Worpress plugin does take time to set up especially for the first time using it. You should probably expect that for your first install it could take you 2-3 hours including watching the training videos going through the manual and having a issues along the way.

To put it in perspective though 2-3 hours is a great investment if you take into consideration that you only do this once and the rest is very easy. If you are more tech savvy then it should take you a lot less than this.

Either way with the right attitude no matter what level you are at you should have it going in a couple hours.

Techy: That brings me to the next point. It can be a little techy if you are brand new to WordPress, so if you are you may want to get someone to give you a hand.

Indexing The Web 2.0: For the spiders to index your links on the Web 2.0 sites the Web 2.0 sites have to indexed to start with and so you need to put a little effort into this. the best ways to get these sites indexed is by pinging them with tools like pingoat.com or pingomatic.com.

You should also submit the RSS feed of these sites to all good feed directories like feedage.com and feedagg.com so that each time your site updates the web 2.0 sites the feed directories update, giving you even more chance of your links being found and indexed in a short time.

You can bookmark you web 2.0 sites and also build a few links to these. You could also check out nuclearindexer.com which is a paid service but well worth it if you are doing a large number of links.

Footprint: Another problem with the plugin is that it creates a huge footprint for the search engines because you have a handfull of sites linking to a mass of links (in most cases) that link back to your site. This is very easy to see from a search engine perspective.

What you can do to improve this is:
Have more than 1 install of BLE on different WordPress sites. I like to use a subdomain so I can have it running on a heap of different places at once.

You can even make different subdomains on the 1 domain E.G blog.domain.com, backlinkenergizer.domain.com, indexing.domain.com

Change the web 2.0 sites on a regular basis so that the links are being spread further.

WordPress is simply amazing for automation and syndication and in this Web Traffic Genius Review I am going to cover the pros and cons of the plugin so that you can make informed decision if it is a good fit for you.

Oh and while I am going to keep this review as unbiased as possible I will have a Web Traffic Genius bonus for you at the end if you think it is something you need.

It is not really clear on the sales page exactly how it works so first I am going to tell you a bit about it and then go through the Pros and Cons of the WordPress plugin.

How Web Traffic Genius Works

RSS feeds are one of the best things ever invented for massive leverage and time effective SEO and Web Traffic Genius (WTG) makes the most of both of these.

If you know anything about SEO you will know that utilising RSS is a must for out performing your competition and pushing your message out there.

In short every time you update your blog a new page and link is added to your RSS feed and if you submit this feed to other sites like RSS directories then each time you make a blog post you will publish a small piece of your content on these directories with a link back to your site.

There are hundreds of RSS directories out there and it can be a very time consuming going to each one and submitting your feed. there are other tools out there like RSS bot which do help a little but the success rate is very low, so you are only marginally better off than doing it by hand.

What Web Traffic Genius does is each time you make a blog post it creates a unique RSS feed for that post and then submits it to a heap of RSS directories on auto pilot, so all you need to think about it writing the blog post and this plugin submits the feeds giving you a heap of backlinks in the process.

There are 2 main advantages here, obviously the time saving of having to submit to all the sites but the more powerful thing is that it normally you only have 1 main RSS feed on your WordPress blog domain.com/feed and it has all your posts in it.

What Web Traffic Genius does is creates a new feed for each post that you make and then mixes it with other feeds that you have preset and submits it a completely new feed to all the directories giving you a more unique content out there and better backlinks.

Bit Of Background

The software was developed by the brother Anthony and Tim Buchalka from Australia and it is currently available as software for html websites and also in the WordPress plugin. I only have experience with the plugin so can’t comment on how good or bad the html version is.

Ok lets get down to the guts of it..

Con’s of the Plugin

Takes Time - The Worpress plugin does take a little time to set up especially if you are setting it up for the first time. You should allow 4-5 hours including watching the training videos and going through the manual plus some time for having a issues along the way, before you figure how to set it up right and get it going..

Also included in this time is setting up accounts at all the feed directories. While this does take quite awhile it amplifies the power and amount of links that you get back every time you make a post.

If you have a VA this will be no big deal as it’s very straight forward and they can do this easily. There are about 50 directories that the plugin posts but out of these only about 20 require that you set up accounts.

To put it in perspective though 4-5 hours is a great investment if you take into consideration that you only do this once and then each time you post to your blog you get backlinks automatically. If you are more of a techy then it should take you a lot less than this.

Either way with the right attitude no matter what level you are at you should have it going in a few of hours.

Techy – That brings me to the next point. It can be a little techy if you are brand new to WordPress, so if you are you may want to get someone to give you a hand that understand WP. I cant vouch for the html version here because as I said I dont use it. Anyone that is serious about SEO should be using WordPress anyway .

Slow Post - Because the plugin has to manage a heap of work and login to all the directories it does slow down posting time when you hit publish in wp admin. If this worries you I suggest just schedule it and then log out and it will do it’s job while you are off watching TV.

Upgrade – Because it is a paid plugin that isn’t available in the wordpress directory when an upgrade is available you need to download it and then upload it again to the site. this isn’t just with Web traffic genius but all paid plugins.

Sales Page – If you want to buy the plugin then you have to get past the ugly cheesy sales page. When I was first recommend to get it I took one look at the sales page and then went back to my friend who said I should get it and asked if I was looking at the right site.

In short the Sales page doesn’t do the tool justice at all.

Pros Of Web Traffic Genius

Customer service – Is very good and they reply within 24 hours should you have any issues with setting up it up.

I don’t really need to mention how powerful it is to have 50 new backlinks on auto pilot each time you post to your blog.

Captcha – Some of the directories have a captcha to stop spam and WTG has figured a work around by adding integration with the most popular captcha services decaptcher.com, deathbycaptcha.com and bypasscaptcha.com.

You will need to add credit to your account on one of these sites for it work with WTG and also just input the logins into the plugin and away it goes.

You don’t have to go use the sites that use captcha’s, saving a maybe $5 a year, but I highly recommend that you do use them, because the ones with the captcha’s tend to be the most high powered directories.

Extra Feeds – Being able to add in extra feeds from other sites that you may own is a huge bonus because you can be building backlinks to your other sites on auto as well, just by putting them in your install of Web Traffic Genius on one site.

For the best Results in indexing my links I take the trackbackfeed created by the indexing plugin and put it in WTG, then every time WTG posts to the directories it makes backlinks to your other pages and powers up your backlinks.

Fast Indexing – Because the RSS directories that your paosts get submitted to get crawled so often by the search engines, you posts get indexed really quick some times I have posts indexed within an hour, without doing anything else but having this plugin installed.

Statistics – Web Traffic Genius now has a statistics page and it tells you… You guessed it statistics! It shows you how many posts are successfully submitted to the RSS directories so if there is a problem with not posting to a site you can see instantly and rectify it.

Import/Export – The Import/Export function saves a heap of time because once you have set up your RSS directory logins on one installation of WTG you can then just download and upload to another site you might have it running on.

Manual Post – There is a function where you can select a page or post (yes you can post pages to RSS directories too) and then click submit and it will create a new feed and submit it for you. This comes in handy where you might have an established blog and want to get some link love for all those existing pages as well.

Money Back Guarantee- Any good marketer these days should stand by their product and Anthony and Tim do just that offering a 100% money back guarantee if you cant see the value in it.

Life Time Upgrades – Both the plugin and the software come with life time upgrades which is great to know as WordPress is always updating their platform and can cause bugs for plugins and having life time upgrades cancels this out. I cant remember how many times, since I have owned it that they have added new features.

The key is to have more than one account for the duplicates like wordpress, twitter, blogger etc.

In the plugin settings you can set the amount of content the plugin should post to each of these sites so if you only want to show a small excerpt and have people come back to your site to read the read the rest you can.

I suggest taking advantage of this and using the default excerpt settings of 500 characters, because you don’t want to give all the information away on the sites you are syndicating to or people wont have a reason to come back to your site.

The Wp Syndicator plugin created by Andy Fletcher is very easy to set up even someone that is new to WordPress should be able to set it up without any hassle.

There is a setting auto post each time you add new content and there is also a manual setting, so that if you are putting this on an existing site and want to get the content out there then you can do so with literally a click of a button.

Anchor text backlinks are very important for helping the search engines to figure out what our page is about as most of us know. Now the great thing about Wp Sydnicator is that it allows you to set the anchor text for each page when you are creating your post. This is a very powerful feature and will help with SEO a lot.

Wp Syndicator Downsides

As I mentioned earlier the plugin does take about 2 hours total to set up and I guess this is the one of the only things that I can say about the plugin that are not great. When you think about it though investing 2 hours of time up front to have around 37 backlinks each time you make a blog post is very cost effective if you are going to be putting any real amount of content on your site.

Some times not all of your sites that you syndicate to will get indexed by the search engines without a little help and if they aren’t indexed your backlinks wont count. All you need to do in mos cases is ping them using something like pingomatic.com, pingler.com or pingoat.com. You may also want to bookmark the sites or build a few links back to them to make sure they stay indexed.

I really don’t have any other points for improvement on this plugin, so if you are using it and have issues wiuth anything please post a comment below and let us know.

Upsides of Wp Syndicator

I mentioned before the Plugin is extremely easy to set up and gives you around 37 backlinks every time you make a post if you set it up correctly from the start.

This will make sure your new blog posts or pages get indexed very quickly while powering them up for better rankings.

Obviously it saves a lot of time because if your were to go and get 37 backlinks every time you made a post it would take a lot more than the 2 hours it takes to set up the plugin from the start. Or if you happen to buy backlinks this could end up costing a lot more than the $50 (single licence) or $67 (unlimited licence) investment that the plugin costs.

Final Thoughts
All round good WordPress plugin that is easy to use and gets good results. I give it a 4.5 out of 5. If you are only going to add 1 new post every 6 months then this plugin probably isn’t for you, but even if you are a part time blogger you will get value for money, tarffic and backlinks from using the plugin.

Most of us know that if we aren’t getting our backlinks indexed by the search engines then they all that time and effort that goes into creating content and posting it, goes to waste. Because if a search engine doesn’t think that a page is worth indexing then why would it count the link the points back to your site?

Obviously being the backlink building business we have spent a lot of time testing different methods of getting links indexed, from RSS and bookmarking to mass pinging and backlinking our backlinks.

Some things work well, others just seem to be a big time suck, but after a lot R & D we have a system that gets 90% of our backlinks indexed over time and today I thought we would share it.

It’s really not that big of a deal and if you follow the system below you will get great results as long as your content is okay. Let me point out that if you are using spam tools to get fourm profile links then this will help but those pages offer no real value and will be hard to get indexed no matter what you do.

1) The first step is simply getting all the URLs where you have created backlinks and putting them in a txt doc. Then take them and putting them in the index checker tool at nuclearindexer.com (See the full Nuclear Link Indexer Review). It is a paid tool but if you are creating any amount of backlinks then you are going to want to invest a little money in the tools I mention because we have tested and it ends up costing a lot less per backlink than if you were to just go get more backlinks.

This tool will check to see how many of links are actually indexed to start with and even though it is just a checking tool we have found that it helps get some links indexed as it checks.

2) Then in the same tool with the click of a button you can move your links over to the indexing part of the tool, where it starts working it’s magic.

After you have put these in here wait a week and come back to see how many have been indexed. Typically this will get around 50-65% of your links indexed.

3) Then you can export the ones that haven’t been indexed and take them to the next step.

4) The next thing we do is put them in Backlink Energizer on multiple installs. This builds a handful of backlinks to all the remaining pages that haven’t been indexed. This usually pushes them over the line and boarder line forces the search engines to index them, while nuclear indexer is still working away in the back ground.

5) If you want to go that little bit further then you can take all the non indexed URL’s and put them in links2rss.com and create an RSS feed from them. Once you have the feed you can take this and submit it to all the feed directories. You might want to try RSS Bot for faster submissions.

That’s it by the time you have completed the whole process you should have nearly all your links indexed. The whole process will take about 1 month by the time you see really high indexing rates, but it’s well worth the wait and if you are doing a few thousand backlinks a month then it ends up costing a lot less in time and money as opposed to building more.

I am going to start off with bold statement and say that the number 1 reason so many business go bust is because they do not understand marketing and why it is an investment, not a cost and SEO is no different it is a marketing avenue and can be one of the best returns on investments that a business can ever make.

If people really understood the power of return on investment and that marketing is an investment and not an expense then a lot more businesses would survive and have a higher percentage of profit.

Every year we see new businesses come and go and the average statistic is something like, only 20% of businesses make it past the first 2 years. Now being fair a number of those will have closed their doors for other reasons and not just because they didn’t make enough profit.

As an SEO provider we commonly get people saying “that is too expensive” or “How come it costs so much?” and it’s these people that do not understand that marketing is an investment and not an expense if you track your return on investment.

I once had a client and she started off with no traffic or business from her website after 3 months she was getting around 550 unique visits to her site and we sat down one day and looked at how much she was making back from these visitors.

Over $2,000 profit per month after she had paid her bills etc, just from the SEO work I had done for her. Now, at the time her month investment in SEO was $300, great! But she didn’t think so after 4 months she rang up and said “I can afford to keep paying you $300 per month it’s too expensive”.

This is a classic example of someone who does not understand that marketing is an investment. I said to her “So you don’t think you are getting a good deal? We have talked about this and can see that you are making $2,000 per month from what you are paying me $300 to do?” and she said “No I am just a small business and I cant afford $300 per month.”

Can you see how crazy this is? If I went to an investors conference and had a stand there with a big banner saying “670% return on investment every month” I would be swarmed with investors shoving money down my throat.

You see if you can track your investment (which you can do very easily with SEO) on marketing then is really quite simple, if you outlay $100 and you get $50 back that is a bad investment and you either change your offer, the way the product or service is positioned or the medium you are advertising on.

On the flip side if you outlay $100 and you make $200 then you keep investing more $100 and you will make a lot more money at the end of the day.

A hidden value in search engine optimization is that you are also building an asset. When you have a good SEO provider and they get you results you have income from the sales that is a by product of doing good SEO and you are also building a valuable asset to sell.

For example if you figure out that your site generates $5,000 profit from sales per month from organic traffic then, even at 1 multiple (12 months profit) that would make the website worth $60,000 when you go to sell it.

Now you might sell it on flippa.com or just to someone purchasing your business when it’s time to sell, the thing to remember is that like renovating a house when getting SEO work done you are adding to the value of the asset and when you sell it, it will be worth a lot more.

If you are working with a good SEO they should be asking you:
What is your average client value?
and
What is your average sale profit?

Because if they know these they should be able to estimate how many visitors more accurately what your monthly investment in SEO should be if they really have your best interests at heart.

There is no point outlaying $1,000 per month if your potential for making money from the site is only $500 per month and vice verse, if you have potential to make $20,000 per month quite easily you don’t want to end up with and SEO package that is too small and it will leave too much money on the table in terms of targeted keywords, because you will be missing out on a large amount of profit.

This is something that no one is teaching and very little SEO companies employ when determining the best SEO package for your business.

Article distribution is still one the best ways to get content out there build authority and get backlinks to your site. We all know by know that manually submitting content takes a lot of time that we could be out doing something we enjoy instead of doing laborious mundane work.

There are quite a lot of tools out there on the market today, some that do a good clean job of submitting your articles and others that just blast out a mixed mash of garbage to splogs (spam blogs) in an effort to keep you paying that monthly subscription fee.

Keyword Research

All online and some offline marketing campaigns need to start with keyword research and seo for small business is no different.

Things to remember when doing your keyword research are:
1) The most searches is not always the best
So many people just look at how much potential traffic they could get, while the smart small business SEO‘s are looking for the low competition keywords that might have a few very target searches per month.

As a general rule longer tail keywords are more targeted, easier to rank for and because they are so much more targeted people usually convert to sales easier.

2) Does it make sense?
Don’t just target a keyword because it has low competition and search volume think about the psycology of the searcher. If you have a remedial massage therapy business you might not want to target keywords like “Full body massage” because the searcher could be looking for something that don’t offer.

3) Use Exact or Phrase
Use exact match or phrase match when doing your research it will give you a much more accurate idea of amount of searches there are.

Keywords in Meta Tags

Once you have your keywords then get your friendly web guru to put your keywords in your title tag and description tags for each page.

Don’t keyword stuff and make sure make bother the title and description as compelling as possible for the searcher to click on, because what you make you title and description tag is what shows up in the search engines.

Don’t bother using the keyword meta tag, it is completely useless and if anyone tells you that they need to be in there then get another SEO guru because that technique lost effect years ago.

Domain Name

When you have done your keyword research you should come up with your main keyword and then try and get a domain name with the keyword in it. This will give you a head start with your small business seo, but remember to make it easy to remember for your clients.

Claim Your Google Places Listing

For some this may seem obvious but claiming your business listing in google can be one of the fastest ways of ranking for your keywords.

Simply go to places.google.com/business and follow the prompts to submit your business. When filling out your listing it is beneficial if your business has your keyword in the name because the “company name” becomes the title tag for the places listing.

Make sure you fill in as many areas as possible and try use related keywords in your profile this will help Google determine what your listing is about.

Include images saved as your keywords but don’t over do it. Choose relevant categories and if there aren’t any related, use your keywords sparingly (careful not to over stuff).

Include video (if you don’t have video you can make neat one at Animoto.com). Upload your video to YouTube making sure you save the video as the keyword you want to rank for and the titling the video the keyword as well (this is your title tag on YouTube) then put a link in the description back to your website.

Then take the youtube URL and paste in the google places listing. Once everything is filled in hit submit and then confirm your account either by phone or post.

Make sure you get your happy customers to post feedback on your google places listing, this will help boost the rankings of your places listing. You could incentivise them to do so by having a prize draw each month for new people have left feedback on your places listing.

Yahoo Directory

Submit your site to the Yahoo directory, it does cost about $300 but being listed in there is one of the best ways to get your site ranked, because of the massive trust a link from the directory will give you.

make sure your site is of quality and not just a holding page before you submit it because if the listing is not approved then you will just burn your $300 and not be listed.

Have a good look through the terms and conditions before submitting to make sure your site complies and you will be fine.

DMOZ

Dmoz.org is another quality directory that you can submit your site to help boost your search engine rankings but this one doesn’t cost an arm and a leg, however they get so many listings that they can take 6 months or more to approve your listing.

It is in their terms of service that you must not submit more than once so if your site isn’t listed in the directory after a week don’t bother resubmitting or they may never list your site. Just submit it and like yahoo make sure that it is a quality site and not a half done one and then forget about it, if gets listed then good.

Local Business Directories

There are tones of local business directories out there and most of them being free. Though in saying that free doesn’t always mean good. Search engines want to see quality links pointing back to your business site and some of the best quality ones are paid (and worth it).

Start by searching in your prefered search engine for things like:
“business directory” your city/country
keyword “add url”
keyword “add site”
keyword “add website”

and you should find a good list of places that you can submit your website too.

Don’t bother with the sites that ask for a reciprocal link back to them it’s such an outdated technique and has very little value to your search engine rankings.

Backlinks

Last and definitely not least you have to get backlinks from a range of sources including web 2.0, bookmarks, RSS directories, social media, article directories, blog comments and any other place you can get a quality backlink from.

Backlinks are like votes and the more votes you have the more popular you are and the higher up the ranks a search engine may place you if you have all the other things in play.

As google moves more away from link building to user experience for the base of its algorithm it has introduced what I’m calling the “Google Bounce Block Button”. The way it works is if you type a query into google and then click through to a site and subsequently bounce (hit the back button) back to Google to see more results then you are given the option to block that site from being shown again.

Rolled out on google.com after the farmer up date this change gives even more power to the user and is going to make it even harder for those with low quality sites to maintain their rankings.

On the official Google blog was posted:

“You’ve probably had the experience where you’ve clicked a result and it wasn’t quite what you were looking for. Many times you’ll head right back to Google. Perhaps the result just wasn’t quite right, but sometimes you may dislike the site in general, whether it’s offensive, pornographic or of generally low quality. For times like these, you’ll start seeing a new option to block particular domains from your future search results. Now when you click a result and then return to Google, you’ll find a new link next to “Cached” that reads “Block all example.com results.””

Even though you need to be signed in for the block to work, because it ties in with your google account, you can bet you bottom dollar that this will not only be for the individual user but also tied back as part of the google algorithm as well.

You can unblock a site after blocking it and when you type in the same search term (or a term that a site you have blocked would normally rank for) will show down the bottom of the results page.

So what does this mean for your site?

If your site has a high bounce rate at the moment then more users will have the chance to block your site potentially lowering your rankings for that keyword for future searchers.

I have believed for quite awhile that the bounce rate must effect the sites ranking, but with the block button it is just going to cement this, so there is no guess work on Googles part. If (most likely percentage based) a number of people bounce and then block your site, your rankings could drop over time.

What happens if you search in one particular market often?

This is where the button could actually go in reverse, you see if you do a lot of searching within a particular market and start blocking everything you don’t like eventually you are going to be served up results that are sub standard.

As a general rule we know that in a lot of cases it only takes going to page 2 start finding results that starting to drift away from what we want. That means that you only really need to hit the block button around 10 times in a market and the quality of the results will start to deteriorate.

Yes I hear you say “but if you have blocked the fist 10 then they must be no good anyway” true, however that’s not the point I’m making. It could potentially happen in non competitive markets quite easily making the actual experience worse in some cases.

It will be interesting to see if the change effects wikipedia over time where it is ranking for terms that it probably shouldn’t be.

What are the downsides?

Slow to fetch results – Sometimes it can take awhile to fetch the results if you have a slow Internet connection. I find depending on the time of day the speed can differ. When I am trying to use it in peak download times for my ISP market samurai can be very slow and in off peak times it is good.

This is because of the massive amounts of data that the tool is processing at any one time. As far as I know this tool gathers more information in one place than any other keyword research tool, so I don’t mind that it can take awhile sometimes I simply just do another task at the same time.

Update problems – Problems every now can arise because it pulls data from so many places, when another resource updates the way do things it can effect the way market samurai provides results. This mainly a non issue but you can expect that there will be glitches from time to time. All I can say is I would hate to be the MS team having to keep the tool updated every day.

They normally have any glitches sorted out within 24 hours and if you personally have any problems their support team are always very helpful and make sure you get running again should you encounter a problem.

What are the upsides?

Lifetime upgrades – As I mentioned above the team at Noble Samurai (creators of MS) are always working hard to keep the tool up to date. I’m not sure how many full time staff they have continually working to make sure that the tool is working properly, but nearly every time I use it (which is daily) there is another upgrade available.

Fantastic support – Mentioned above as well is their great customer support should you every have a problem running the software on your computer.

1 time investment – I’m not 100% sure why they didn’t make it a recurring investment to use the tool but bet they are kicking themselves that they didn’t. If you are just starting out online you may not use use it quite as much an SEO company and I think that is why they made it a once off investment.

Works on both Windows and Mac – Because it is a desktop installed online application it works on both Mac and PC which is good for keeping both camps happy.

Easy for beginners – The way it laid out is easy for any beginner to navigate and learn and there are more than 250,000 people using it now so there is always someone that can help out and users post tutorials everywhere, so if you ever get stuck it is easy to figure it out.

Keyword Research Module

While most people call it a keyword research tool, MS is really a market research tool (funny they called Market Samurai and not Keyword Samurai), because the keyword research is just one module out of the 9 that are included.

The keyword research module suggests keywords related to the main keyword you input and then displays a huge amount of data including:

• The amount of searches
• The amount of traffic expected for a number 1 ranked site
• The amount of competing pages
• The amount of competing pages with the keyword in the title tag (which is a main ranking factor)
• The amount of competing pages that have the keyword in the URL (another major ranking factor)
• The percentage of phrase to broad match search that gives a good idea on how competitive it is
• How much being ranked in the top spot for any particular keyword is worth in $
• What the chances are of a person buying something that types in a specific keyword
• How much per click people are paying for a keyword with google AdWords

Some other settings include:

Broad, phrase or exact match – For your keywords to give you a better understanding of how people are searching.

If you want the data to be on daily weekly or monthly basis there is simple drop down option.

You can filter your results so that the tool will only show results within a parameter. E.g If you want to see results of keywords that have less title tag competition than 100,000 and more daily traffic than 5 visitors per day per keyword.

This feature is great for finding long tail keywords very fast that have traffic and you can rank for sometimes in days instead of months.

Exporting - You can easily export the keywords to a CSV file with one click. You are also able to send your keywords to the rank tracker module with the click of a button, this saves you copy and pasting.

There is also a copy to clip board function where you can copy your keywords, to a note pad for other use.

Keyword suggestion - From the keyword tool you can also open up new tabs and Market Samurai will suggest more keywords based on that main one. E.G if you have the keyword “chocolate” as a main keyword MS will suggest “milk chocolate”, you can then click 1 button and MS will make “milk chocolate” a main keyword as well and then suggest more keywords related to “milk chocolate”, so you end up with a huge list of keywords very quickly.

SEO Competition Module

The SEO competition module allows you to quickly and easily asses the competition and compare how your site fairs again them. It is also great for reverse engineering your competition to see where they are getting their backlinks from and other useful data.

You can compare:

• Domain age
• Page rank
• Number of indexed pages
• Backlinks to the domain
• Backlinks to the page
• Backlinks from .edu or .gov sites
• Whether they have a DMOZ listing
• Whether they have a Yahoo listing
• If the keyword is in the title tag
• If the keyword is in the description tag
• If the keyword is in the URL
• If the keyword is in the head of the page

And you can see all this for the 10 sites on 1 page.

If you want to drill down even more you can click on a site and see the anchor text, page rank, Google trends information, Alexa information, Whois info or their Quantcast data.

I find all this info accurate 99.9% of the time. Every now and then with all tools you get something that doent line up, but no matter what tool you use if you are getting serious about going into a market then you need to use more than one tool to confirm your data or you are asking for trouble.

You can easily export all you competitions data including backlinks PR and anchor text to a CSV file with the click of a button.

Domain Name Module

Keyword rich domain names are the easiest way to boost you search engine rankings and the domain module of MS helps you to find a load of keyword rich domains both new and used straight after you have done your keyword research.

You simply click a button in the keyword research module and it automatically puts the keywords into the domain module for you. Once in the domain module you can add modifiers to the keywords if the exact match domains aren’t available and then hit “find domains” and it will bring back a list for you.

You can filter the aged domain results by domain age, backlinks, domain length, page rank, hyphens and numbers, so you find what you are looking for much faster. You can also filter by the TLD E.G .com .net .com.au .co.uk etc.

Search Engine Optimization VS Paid Traffic

I look at running a PPC campaign like renting a house, while you are paying the rent you get to stay there and when you leave you own nothing…

With SEO it’s more like owning your own home and renovating it. Sure it takes time and you need to invest in it but at the end of the day you are building a valuable asset that will keep bringing you rewards day in day, day out.

This is not to say that you can just do a bit of work and leave it alone, you need to put consistent effort in, publishing new content, making new videos, building links, tracking your results and making changes to meta tags, internal links, etc. The thing with SEO is it always starts off slow and has an exponential curve.

What I mean by that is that is, if you keep putting in the same effort every month your results will will keep increasing relative to the amount of work you are doing, like the diagram.

Paid Traffic
Now paid traffic especially google AdWords, will always complement a good SEO campaign, because you can test which keywords convert to sales, split test ads and then use the copy in you title and description tags for a better click through rate on your organic listings.

You also get data much faster than you can with any SEO campaign and this can save you thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours work, because when we do our keyword research the data we get back no matter if it’s from the google keyword tool or market samurai the results can some times be off and you might think that you have found this great keyword and it has very little competition.

It may have little competition (and you can check that by just typing the keyword in inverted commas “” into google and seeing how many competing pages as a rough guide), but if the traffic estimates are off, or the keyword doesn’t convert to a sale then there is no point chasing that keyword.

Yes AdWords may be a bit of an investment initially but in the long term, if you run ads along side your search engine optimization campaign (at least at the start) you will end up with far more profitable site and your search engine rankings will be more targeted and easier to get with the data you get back.

How do you use adwords for Search Engine Ranking Optimization?

One way anchor text backlinks are by far the most powerful of all backlink types, because they are much harder to obtain than reciprocal or 3 way links.

So What Is A “One Way Anchor Text Backlink”?
It is simply a link going from one page to another page that is not linking back to the first page. That’s the “one way link” bit, now the “anchor text” bit is the text that forms the actual link through. For example if I wanted to link to the home page of this site with the anchor text “one way link building service” it would look like >>>>> one way link building service.

One of the biggest parts of most search engines algorithms is the amount and quality of backlinks, as well as the anchor text that is pointing back to the site or page. It helps them understand what a page is about so they know what to rank the site for.

Backlinks are like votes and so the more votes and the higher authority votes you get the more popular or relevant your site must be to users and that is exactly what the search engines want to serve up to their searchers.

Reciprocal links are not as powerful as one way links and it’s the same as 2 people voting for each other, the votes still count but you look at them as not as genuine as a one way vote and the same goes for backlinks. If you have a one way anchor text backlink pointing at your site it is going to count for more.

Now I’m not saying reciprocal backlinks are a total waste of time or that they will get you “banned from Google” because they won’t, infact I reccommend including all sorts of links within any link building campaign.

The main thing to remember when building any links is that you want to make it look as natural as possible varying the anchor text and source consistently otherwise it will look contrived and you probably won’t end up ranking for the terms that you want to.

Forever changing and evolving the mighty beast google has just made a another huge update to it’s algorithm. Reported to have been working on the change for more than a year Google says the new update affects the algorithm by 11.8%.

Even though not admitted directly by the search engine the “farmer” update is targeting content farms (sites that build masses of low quality content to try and rank higher in the search results pages) and sites that copy others content.

Search Engine Land has a very clear view of how they see the update effecting mass content sites like ehow.com and goes on to say

The problem I think content farms are currently facing is with that last part — not putting in the effort to generate outstanding content.

More links, more links that’s all I hear when it comes to boosting rankings fast and it might sound strange coming from someone who owns a link building business but getting more links is not the answer all the time.

You see most people spend so much time focusing on the amount of links that they are going to get and forget about the fact that your links have to be indexed to count. It’s just like having an election and then at the end only counting 20 votes out of one hundred.

100 people actually voted but only 20 were counted so you only have 20 people effectively voting. Now we all know that links are like votes and it is exactly the same principle. If you build 100 links and 80 of them aren’t indexed by a search engine then to that search engine you online have 20 links.

So all that hard work of building links whether you are doing it by articles, blog comments or other means is just being wasted. it is funny that I have used 80 and 20 as the examples above because if you know of the Pareto principle (the 80/20 rule) 80% of what you do gets you 20% of the results and 20% of what you do gets you 80% of the results.

Well making sure links get indexed is the 80/20 of link building. If you were to use something like linkvana you might find that only 30% of the links that you put out actually get indexed and stay index in the search engines (believe me I have tested more than 11,000 links through this system).

Writing and posting articles without doing anything you might find that about 50% of your articles get indexed (even lower if you spin the content). So on average you are wasting about 50% of your time and money on links that don’t get found and don’t count as votes towards your rankings.

What You Can Do To Get Your Backinks Indexed

As I mentioned getting your links indexed really is the 80/20 of link building because all the grunt work is already done you just need to give a little shove for the big pay off.

The first step is finding the links if you don’t know where they are already. For most articles or blog networks you may be using should send you a ping back request and if you are using something like wordpress you will see these show up as comments in your wp admin panel.

Most people just delete these, NO NO NO! These can be super powerful if used properly. You want to leave them there and get yourself a copy of the indexing pluging. What this plugin does it allows you to import a feed and display links in the footer of your posts or pages back to the links that are pointing to you (hold on, before you start thinking reciprocal links WTF!), once these links have been indexed the plugin automatically removes the links and replaces them with un-indexed ones and the process keeps going.

The plugin comes with it’s brother the track back feed plugin which funnily enough takes your ping back requests and turns them into a nice little feed that you can put in the indexing plugin.

If you don’t use wordpress (you should be ) and you are pretty much screwed if you don’t know where your links are coming from, so lets just assume we all know where our links are coming from now.

One of my favourite free tools is links2rss.com, with this tool you can take a heap of static links (the pages that link to you) and create a unique RSS feed from them. Once we have the links in RSS format it is very easy to distribute them on mass. Note if you don’t want to leave foot prints break down the number links that you put in a feed and make sure you use the spin feature in links2rss.com.

Yahoo Pipes
Take your RSS feed and and create a yahoo pipe or 2. Make sure you hit the publish button or it’s no use
Then take your yahoo pipe and ping it using something like pingoat.com or pingler.com to get the hard of your pipe URL indexed.

Some times just making a few pipes with your links in them is enough to get indexed but we want to make 100% sure.

RSS distribution
If you have something like RSS Bot you can simply take your new RSS feed and your yahoo pipe (separately) and blast them out to the RSS directories this is going to help a lot in getting found and indexed.

Bookmarking
The next step is to take all the links or feeds and bookmark them using something like IMautomator.com or socialadr.com and if you are going to be doing a lot of bookmarking you might want to look at http://bookmarkerdemon.com/

Doing these 3 things should help you get most if not all of your links indexed and should take less than half an hour to do. Think about it if you have 500 links and 50% of them aren’t indexed, half an hour is nothing to get another 250 odd links that actually count.

What are the tools or techniques that you use to find or get your links indexed?

We all hate getting slapped by any search engine when SEO link building, so I thought I would share one strategy on how to keep your nose clean and keep it real bro.

One of the easiest ways to get slapped and disappear like a handkerchief in a magic show is to build too many links with anchor text. Yes I know sometimes we get impatient and want to boost our rankings faster and some times we think we can cut corners, but it doesn’t work.

You need to have balance in everything you do for SEO and anchor text is no different. We need to remember that search engines have a mile high view of the Internet and more data on what looks natural than there are grains of sand on the earth, so it very easy for them to see what the average amount of anchor text links pointing to a site should be.

From building thousands of backlinks and optimising hundreds of sites I have found that you need to have 40-50% of incoming links with your URL to stay safe and not drop off the planet for a month or two.

You should be only targeting one main keyword for each page and try keep the anchor text for this page around the 30% mark and it will look on par with the rest of the web.

As time goes on search engines are bring in more parts to the algorithm and one is that you need to use LSI (fancy nerd name for “related”) keywords in both your text and anchor text links, linking back to your site. You want to use about 20-30% for your related keywords and you cane get these by either:
going to google and typing in your main keyword, then scrolling to the bottom and selecting the blue links under “related terms”.

Or just using the google keyword tool and typing in your main keyword. By default the keywords are in order of relevance to the main one you typed in. Grab half a dozen of these and use them in your SEO link building campaign.

Last but not least you want to use some NON related terms about 5%. But don’t just build links for anything build links for useful buying terms.

You might want to use things like:

• fast delivery
• discount
• cheap
• best service
• buy online
• instant download

These will help your link building efforts look more natural and also help you rank for buying keywords, because having links pointing back for these terms you will find that you start to rank and get some traffic for highly targeted buying keywords that you had never thought of before.

Main thing to remember with any SEO link building campaign is keep it real!

A huge misconception about link building is that you have to have more links to win the race and appear up the top of the results. But is that a smart link building strategy, to simply try and bludgeon your way to the top??

What about those pesky sites you see that are ranking above you, but have half the amount of links that you do and when you try and reverse engineer them you, look at the data and are still wondering hours later “what am I missing?!!”.

Well surprise, surprise the big G and other search engines have a mile high view of what is going on with all the websites and networks of sites online and if you are simply building links from site A to site B and don’t have a proper link building strategy in place it is going to be quite obvious that you are trying to manipulate the system.

Search engines don’t want something that looks like you are trying to manipulate them, all they want are the most relevant results for their users. The masses of data they accumulate on a daily basis gives them a darn good idea of how natural networks around a popular page/site are formed.

In the below diagram is my simple version of the type of network we should be looking at building. Our target page/site is in the Green.

This is crucial piece of the puzzle that so many people over look when planing their link building strategy and I believe it changes the game significantly for the people that take the time to build a proper network of sites around their main site.

Now I’m not saying that getting links directly back from other sites with no other network connections don’t work at all they do. I’m simply saying that as part of a good strategy we need to be implementing a grander plan of building a mini net of related sites that show the search engines what part of the Internet we hang out and who our neighbors are.

We want a mixture of quality and quantity and what we are talking about here is the “quality ones”, the 80/20 when it comes to the total number of links pointing to our site. The thing to remember also is that all the link juice that is being passed from the network of sites to each other will eventually filter down to your site, so instead of building 1,000 links valued at 1 point each to our sites we should be building 10 links that are valued at 500 points each, because they have nice sized network behind them.

This is the difference, that makes the difference and is why you will see sites with 500 links ranking above sites with 50,000 links.

Authority Within Your Link Building Strategy

Within your network of properties you want to also be linking to high authoritative sites from the same page that links to your own, because this is what happens in a natural link network. This is a way of pointing out that your site is aligned with a site the engines already trust and remember that’s all a good search engine optimization strategy is, a trust building game.

This also goes for your own site, you don’t want to hord link juice and not link out at all, you want to link to highly relevant and highly trusted sites within your market, again showing the engines which part of the net you hang out.

It’s not about building links it’s about building trust and replicating natural web communities that ultimately win the SEO race and if you are in a competitive market you will find it hard to rank if you don’t have a network of sites around your own.
